Okay, so you have a website up but no one is stopping to visit or your Google analytics (you are analyzing your website, aren't you?) reveal that people are stopping - very briefly - and are keeping it moving.
To be successful in business your website must be well-designed and targeted to the people you wish to serve and to sell to. These people are your prospective customers and for them to become your actual customers, they must believe that whatever it is you are selling can do one or all of the following:
- Relieve some type of pain they are in (business, personal, career, whatever)
- Show them how to make money
- Help them live the type of life they dream about
That's it - one or all of the above.
I feel really bad when I visit a website which I can tell a person has put a lot of thought into and it's a flop. Or, when I purchase a service or product from a woman and when I ask her for her website address, she either does not have one or worse (yes, worse), she has one and it's a mess - misspelled words, no clarity in what she's selling, no call to action, no way for her to trap people's name and email address so she can stay in contact with them, no pictures of her products and worst of all - absolutely no way for anyone to make a purchase!
Sisters, this is critical - if you are serious about and committed to your business, your website must be professional and functional. Remember, a website is a like a living, breathing organism - it must always change or it will die.
While I do not build websites, I can sure critique them and make suggestions for improvement. Also, we will be offering free webinars in which I will show you how to build at least a basic website. Once you're making a lot of money, you can hire a professional web designer but there's really no need to do that. Right now, you just need a professional, functional website and you can do it yourself.
So, if you have a website and you'd like it critiqued, look below to your left for the details. If you don't have a website, I know of a couple of free places where you can get one and if you can type in Microsoft Word, you can create a website. Here are a couple of places you can go to get started:
Weebly.com (okay I know the name is funny but it's a great place to build a FREE website!)
So ... if your excuse for not having a website has been because you cannot afford to pay for someone to build you one, I've just removed that excuse because if you can type in Microsoft Word, you can build a website. Just do it! Remember, after you've built it or if you already have one built, use our service to critique the website. It can make the difference between a site that just sits there and one that earns you money!
P.S. Do you have a domain name for your website? No? I purchased all of my business domains from Godaddy.com because they are the World's Largest Registrar. Click the Godaddy image below to buy your domain name and - act quickly because it's getting harder to come up with a domain name that isn't already taken!
